I went the Sheffield to deal with my something, it was my first time to visit there. Sheffield looked different from Nottingham. The train station is at the center of the university area. I saw many design things include the poster, art street, and graffiti typography.
This place is building the new building to extend the university area for the future planning. The design inspired me for their writing a simple and clean local slogan and graphic usage, such as “Students make Sheffield” or “This is a city that isn’t trying to be London”. These words definitely tell us – Sheffield is an unique city.
I love this graffiti design – “then” comprises with “now” as you can see different angle viewing.
The art cafe design typography with overlay coffee bean icon “Hot, Now”. It’s painting on the wall.
I stay in Sheffield for just half a day as I just feel Sheffield is a re-building & vitality city, the clean street and not much population (I was suprise that), I think the reason at the city heart of the university area. It may attract many young people to visit there in the future.
P.S. It is a point that I found many students visit Sheffield from Nottingham.
